This project report identified and analyzed potential risks, injuries, and hazards for the sanding task at Textron Aviation by conducting two interviews with a contact, video and image analysis, and an assessment tool. Four different positions were analyzed for each worker (under the wing Fig.1, under the belly of the aircraft Fig.2, on top of the aircraft Fig 2, and on the side of the aircraft’s wing Fig 2). The “Ergonomics Assessment Tool” was used to evaluate the discomfort/pain prior to and after the recommendations are implemented. We analyzed possible “Just Noticeable Pain”, “Moderate Pain”, and “Intolerable Pain” in different parts of the body for four possible different positions that workers may experience.
